Alerts

Static Studio can notify you whenever important events affect your deployed static websites.

Alerts help you respond quickly to outages, performance regressions and other critical issues without constantly monitoring your Site Health dashboard.

Open Sites → Site Health → Alerts to configure notifications for a website.

Configuring Alerts

Alerts are configured individually for each monitored website.

You can choose which events should trigger notifications and who should receive them.

Simply enter one or more email addresses and enable the alert types relevant to your website.

Alert Types

Static Studio currently supports several alert categories.

Downtime Alerts

Receive a notification when your website becomes unavailable.

To reduce false alarms caused by temporary network issues, you can configure a downtime threshold before an alert is sent.

For example, you may choose to receive a notification only after several consecutive failed checks.

Performance Alerts

Performance alerts notify you when your site's Google PageSpeed score falls below a configured threshold.

This makes it easy to identify performance regressions after deployments or infrastructure changes.

You can configure independent thresholds for:

  • Desktop performance
  • Mobile performance

Recovery Notifications

Recovery notifications let you know when a previously detected issue has been resolved.

Instead of receiving alerts only when something breaks, you'll also be notified once your website is healthy again.

This helps close the loop without requiring you to manually check the dashboard.

Managing Recipients

You can send notifications to one or more email addresses.

This is useful for:

  • Website owners
  • Development teams
  • Agencies managing client websites
  • Operations or support teams

Every configured recipient will receive the same alert notification.

Testing Notifications

Before relying on alerts, you can verify your configuration by clicking Send Test.

This sends a sample notification to all configured recipients, allowing you to confirm that your email settings are working correctly.

Best Practices

To avoid unnecessary notifications, we recommend:

  • Configure an appropriate downtime threshold.
  • Enable recovery notifications.
  • Review PageSpeed thresholds occasionally.
  • Only notify the people who need to respond to alerts.

Thoughtful alert settings help reduce notification fatigue while ensuring important issues are never missed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly will I receive an alert?

Alerts are sent after the configured monitoring thresholds have been met. This helps prevent false alarms caused by temporary outages or network interruptions.

Can I send alerts to multiple people?

Yes.

Simply add multiple email addresses to the recipient list. All configured recipients will receive the same notifications.

What happens when my website comes back online?

If Recovery Notifications are enabled, Static Studio automatically sends a follow-up email confirming that your website has recovered.

Will I receive duplicate notifications?

No.

Static Studio is designed to avoid repeatedly notifying you about the same ongoing incident. You'll typically receive a notification when an issue is detected and, if enabled, another when it has been resolved.

Do alerts monitor my WordPress website?

No.

Alerts are triggered by monitoring your deployed static website and its infrastructure, ensuring you're notified about issues affecting your published site rather than your WordPress installation.
